It is so hard to understand why some parents will not clip their child's tongue.  I suppose everyone has their reasons, but it is less invasive/painful than a circumcision, which many parents do not think twice about.

My son had his tongue clipped at 6 days old.  He basically slept through the whole procedure.  I think it was harder on me than him.  Breastfeeding was so much more comfortable after that.  

It's definitely something I think could make or break a breastfeeding relationship.  And tongue-tie doesn't just affect breastfeeding.  Often times, if it's not clipped at infancy, it may need to be clipped as the child gets older, due to speech problems.
