Isn't it difficult to think of a title to posts sometimes?

One of the donors to our milk bank has had an abscess in her thigh for
14 years, yes that is years not months. She has been treated with
antibiiotics for years off and on. Eventually she has insisted on having
surgery for this. After being on a waiting list for 13 months she will
have her op at the end of January.
She contacted the hospital, not the one I work at, to find out details
of anaesthetics etc so that she can express and throw away if necessary.
Her surgeon has said that he will not operate if she is still
breastfeeding, he gave no reason. She is very upset, baby is 4 months
old.
I have offered to write to him to ask for his reasons but she asked me
to contact you all first to find out what you think.

I need lots of replies so that I can say that you agree that this is
nonsense. Have said that the decision to wean should be hers, not the
surgeon's. She is reluctant to change doctors in case she has to wait
another 13 months for surgery. This is not unusual in England for non-
urgent surgery.
Thanks,
