Jaye, I also refer every single baby with a tt for CST after
clipping--helps to quickly release overdeveloped muscles, wake up
underdeveloped muscles and release patterning.

Dear Jennifer,
So do I. The biggest reason for my doing this is to change the shape of the
palate. I have been finding so many posterior TTs in the last 6 months. For
some weeks, that is all that comes my way. Almost all of them have VIPs
(Variations in Infant Palates): bubbles, domes, high arch, fast sloping that present
continuing probs post clipping. So, I recommend that they see the CST I regul
arly refer to within 2-3 days of the clipping.
Then we just pray that the clipping was deep enough. I have had a number that
required additional clipping, which is additional trauma to everyone involved.
The CST practitioner to whom I usually refer is really good at evaluating ROM
of the tongue and whether or not the clipping was sufficient.
