Dear Lactnetters,

I am the book review editor for the Journal of Human Lactation. I am looking for a
reviewer with anthropology credentials/experience or the equivalent to review the
following book.

> It is a very old book (1939) which has been reprinted in its original text, the
> 6th edition having been published in 1998. From glancing through it, I have found
> no mention of breastfeeding.
> However, Price's work is frequently mentioned in relation to pre-bottle cultures
> and dental health. For that reason, I feel that this book shoud be brought to
> the attention of the JHL readership. You have no doubt heard of it many
> times before:
>
> Nutrition and Physical Degeneration
> Weston A. Price, DDS
> 1998, 524 pages, 150 photographs, 28 chapters, 6 maps, index
>
> 13 chapters (3-14) compare Isolated and Modernized cultures (eg. Eskimos,
> Polynesians, Australian Aborigines). Other chapter titles include:
>
> ch. 2: Progressive decline of modern civilization
> ch. 16: Primitive control of dental caries
> ch. 26: Steps in our modern degeneration

The deadline for the December issue is July 1. This is a full review with a maximum
of 350 words.
After confirmation of the assignment, the book will be sent to you accompanied with
the reviewer's
guidelines. You can keep the book after the review process is completed.

If you are interested and available, please write a paragraph on your experience
and/or education on
the subject which would place you in a good position to review this book. Also,
provide your
mailing address and home phone number.

I appreciate your attention very much and I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Have a wonderful spring day,

Nicole Bernshaw, Book Review Editor
