Are you sure there's no possibility of allergy leading to both aversion and
query anaphylaxis? I would be extremely concerned and talking to a good
paediatric allergist/gastroenterologist/breastmilk immunologist like John
Gerrard in Canada (is he still seeing patients?) or Sami Bahna (last heard
of in TN) if I saw such changes and behaviours. Get the mother to write
down everything she swallows and smokes and baby's behaviour, stools,
vomits, crying, sleep, the lot. ALso, keep that baby with people till this
is sorted out. Babies are less likely to die if there's a warm body with
them. Sorry to sound alarmist but this is NOT NORMAL, and such changes
indicate major reactions are going on in the kid. Assuming that the baby is
not being smothered by a breast, due to the nose being too close in and
the chin too far out, of course: enough to cause aversion and colour change
if the breast is very floppy and blocks airways, But that's usually
obvious. MM
