Nick,
Paget's disease of the nipple is a serious cancer that may result in
mastectomy. One of the more difficult aspects of diagnosis is that it may
resemble candidiasis or eczema of the nipple that is not resolving easily,
thus delaying treatment.

Two lactation sources that discuss it:

1) Breastfeeding: A Guide for the Medical Profession (2005) by Lawrence and
Lawrence, p. 605
2) The Breastfeeding Atlas 3rd Edition by Wilson-Clay and Hoover- 6. 67,
picture of biopsy procedure p128, description of case of picture to rule out
Pagets, p131.

Also do a search of the Lactnet archives for more information, as Paget's
and certain suspect cases have been discussed before.
