I am a Public Health Nurse, CLC in rural Siskiyou County, California serving pregnant and new mothers as childbirth educator, developmental specialist, lactation counselor, and parent educator. I am new to Lactnet. After one day I am so encouraged to have opportunities to hear great information and network with all of you.
As co-chair of the Northern California Breastfeeding Council, I would like to share the WB Month Event we are planning for August 26th in Redding, California to promote BFing in California. The recent new record of 536 mothers increases our challenge. We also are planning to break the Guinness World Record of the most women Breastfeeding simultaneously. Details on the event are described on the following web site: www.snowcrest.net/herf/ncbc/NC_Council.htm
We would like to encourage all breastfeeding advocates in the Western Hemisphere to spread the news to Breastfeeding mothers who might be able to travel to our beautiful mountain community. It should be the hottest event of the new melineum for mothers!! To increase the incentive to participate, our door prizes will include a $250 grand prize! Thank you, with your help we can rival the awesome Aussies.
