This is exactly what "sacrificing breastfeeding on the altar of
ignorance" is all about. Mother has pain we can't explain, must be
the breastfeeding. If she weans the baby and doesn't get better,
well, no loss, after all, the substitute is *almost* as good. If the
pain does get better, of course that would prove it, wouldn't it.
Like most pain doesn't slowly resolve regardless. The physiotherapist
wouldn't be trying to find an excuse why his/her treatment is not
working would s/he?

The hormonally induced "laxity" of ligaments during pregnancy explains
it all, since we all know that the hormonal milieu during lactation is
exactly the same as during pregnancy. Yeh, right. Maybe it's the
baby pulling on her breast loosening the ligaments in her hip. After
all, there used to be anatomical diagrams showing the uterus attached
to the breast (milk was supposed to be changed menstrual fluid) by
blood vessels. That pull could easily affect the leg and hip.
