Greetings... I can't tell you how much my Lactnet reading has done for
my spirit over the last few days. Like Marie and others, I had one of
my toughest weeks, yet, as an LC. Moms and babies don't seem to get me
down....... it's the formula company rep setting up a display in the
Parent Lounge (with goodies for all the nurses), our neonatologist
forbidding all feeding alternatives except the bottle (because there is
no such thing as nipple confusion), and accusing me of "going behind her
back" with alternative fdg.methods (because she'd never discussed it
with me before). And the list could go on. BTW.. did somone out there
deem this past week as "Discourage your local Lactation Consultant
Week"!?

Thanks to all of you who have shared encouraging words (ie. the
Starfish), funny stories (ie. the poor check-out clerk : )), and new
things on the net (ie. North American Culture: Undermining
Breastfeeding). It's these bery contributions that bring a smile to my
face and reinforce the passion and dedication I have to helping Moms and
babies enjoy their breastfeeding relationships. I have a renewal of
dedication and I THANK YOU!!
