I read a summer of this article in the newspaper today. This is not such
breaking news .............. in this group we have read, discussed and heard
about food protein's as the cause of allergic reactions to people with
sensitivities to these foods for many years.
I have not read the original article but I feel these authors may want to
encourage both obstetricians and pediatricians to find out if there are food
sensitive in the family history and have an expectant woman or lactating mom
avoid them. There should also be a bigger push for breastfeeding to help
protect these vulnerable babies so they reduce their risk of allergic
problems in the future.
When a family ask me if there is anything a lactating mom should avoid
eating, I ask them if there are any food allergies.
I will try and get a hold of this article to read in full.
