I'll not make any comment on the discussion about HMF except to say that I
find it a very interesting debate. However, I would like to comment on the
following statement.

 These researchers have published in reputable journals

I don't know about anyone else but I am often horrified when I am obtaining
references from Pediatrics at the amount of advertisements in it for
"special formulas" for babies! It certainly does not lead me to believe that
Pediatrics would be particularly good at weeding out research that was
'tainted' because of support from the infant formula manufacturers. I may be
wrong here (and please someone correct me if I am) but I  thought that
Pediatrics was originally started up with a donation from an infant formula
manufacturer?
