Usually the taste is described as soapy, and to some as sour.  But, no, I
have not heard of a metallic taste.

Just a note that I wanted to mention.  I just recently read that if there is
a problem with taste that freezing in glass might take care of the problem.
 I can't remember the source, but will look in a few papers and books that I
have been going through the past two days, if I come up with a reference I
will let you know.  If not, have the mother give it a try anyway.
