Joy,
It does sound like the mom you spoke with is having a vasospasm reaction.
However, if nursing was okay the first month and a burning pain developed
the second month and has continued, I am suspicious that she may have nipple
yeast that has become so severe without treatment that her nipples are now
reacting with blanching. If this is the case, treating for vasospasm isn't
really the solution; fixing the trauma is where you want to go.

This mom needs to be seen by you personally. Baby's latch needs to be
evaluated, and then mom and baby need to be screened for yeast.

Been there, done that! Vasospasms can be primary, or they can be secondary
reactions to trauma.
