   in very simple terms, bilirubin binds to protein, from there it is
excreted...so what the infant needs is protein imput, there is no reson for
that protein not to be breastmilk. and all the many reason for it to be, i
believe that many of th e physicians here will say that the levels of your
friends baby are not really all that high,,,

   i think that it is important to note that while all the the lc's are very
much in favor of breastmilk and breastfeeding for many reason, NONE will
suggest any course of action that would compromise the health and well being
of mom or baby.
