Bari, sorry if I offended.  But that's part of my point.  There are many
LCs who do LC work a very little time and it is hard to come up with the
bucks to support memberships and subscriptions.  I'm an NP and I venture to
say that at work I only use 1% of my time for breastfeeding.  Part of that
is where and how I work, not the lack of desire  to do more LC work.  I
wish all the babies were BF then I'd see less illness - specifically ear
infections, eczema, asthma and GI upsets.  The BF babies in my practice
don't come in for sick visits just well baby visits!  I'm an LC by
avocation, not vocation.  It is an extension  of my work as an active LLLL.
 I too  wanted some more "magic" initials so HCPs would believe me (they
tend to not believe LLLL in  south Jersey).  P.S. Unfortunately for
whatever reason it has only made us slightly more credible.  Sincerely, Pat
