This is from a doula friend of mine who is in Medical school right now. She
will be a wonderful OB one day and would really like to help prepare other
doctors for breastfeeding. Here is her email to me, she has given me
permission to email you all for help.

To my birth friends,
I am putting together a 10 minute presentation on a topic of my
choosing for the pediatricians at Carilion in Roanoke. I have chosen
"Breastfeeding and the Physicians Role" as my topic, because the
breastfeeding rates here are horrendous and I think the attitudes of
the staff have something to do with it!
What I need from anyone who has a few minutes is this....
1. What do you think is the most helpful thing a physician can do to
promote, encourage and/or support breastfeeding?
2. What is the most detrimental thing a physician can do to interfere
with breastfeeding?
3. Do you have a personal/professional story that illustrates either
of these that might be compelling to share?

Any thoughts or comments are welcome. Thanks everyone for your help.
