So instead of drop side cribs, we just drop baby into the crib - especially if mom's arms are shorter than the distance from the mattress to the top rail of the crib.
But how do we get baby out of the crib again? I know - use a stool. But stools tip over. Gotta ban stools.
Maybe we can cut down the legs of the crib so the mattress is on the floor. Ah! That's called a playpen - just narrower.
What about the metal springs or framework for the mattress: is that adjustable up or down? Or has that been banned also?

The comments are on track: how many were deadly accidents due to design flaws and how many from improper assembly of the crib. Instead of banning the cribs, maybe they should be properly assembled in the factory. Ya think? No more difficult to haul home than when you buy a love seat for the living room. That way you can safely take the parents out of the equasion.

Just getting cynical, looking for common sense and still want to keep babies safe and alive.
