(without samples) decreases the duration of breastfeeding.

I also usually make the argument that if samples interfere with
breastfeeding, we shouldn't give them out.  That's obvious.  And if they
don't interfere, even if there is proof they don't, what harm does it do
*not* to give them out?  None at all, except to the formula companies.
