Yes, I know what you mean. This is where the idea of "statistical risk"
etc. comes in. I have good family records on my mother's side, and no
extraordinary number of twinning. My nieces (sister's daughters) don't
have children yet, but they have a different family history now than
before. In fact, it was my niece, who was doing a section on genetics in
her psych program at the time who assured me my twins would be
identical. Well, both sets were b/g. And my mother had five children, so
it wasn't that she didn't give the genetics a chance to express
themselves.

Yes, according to the logics of heredity. This said, I have heard of
families in which there was a set of identical (fluke -- sorry to MOM of
identical twins) twins followed by a set of fraternal, and I know two
sisters-in-law who had twins within months of each other. Go figure.
Twins are also more common in mothers between 35 - 40 yrs. and with
parity, meaning that some of us are already tired, but very experienced
and wise LOL Maybe that's why we reach menopause earlier!
Once you have one set of fraternal the chances of twinning increase from
1/75 to 1/10. The outcome of the second set is much better, according to
the research.

Now *this* is a self-fulfilling prophecy, I would say. The mothers I
know who couldn't breastfeed were the ones who didn't get any support or
encouragement. I'll send you some other info. privately.
