Hello Lactnetters,

I've searched the forum, but haven't found an answer. Many of you may have
seen the 2007 study on peppermint gel (not water) for nipple pain. At the
end of the study, you can find an Appendix that lists the ingredients for
such a gel: http://www.aromamd.net/edu_cracked_nipples.pdf

The researchers' version sounds too complicated for a layperson to make.
Does anyone know of a retail source for peppermint gel for topical use?

If not, do you have a recommendation for how moms could make their own
safely? I found this recipe:
http://www.wildly-natural-skin-care.com/sore-nipples.html The author there
(after stating incorrect things about toughening up nipples) says it should
be applied after feeds and rinsed off prior.

Thank you,
April
