There are studies, which originate from Toronto (at least one of them)
which shows that premature babies who suck on pacifiers grow faster
when they are tube fed than when they are not sucking on pacifiers.  I
don't know where to find this study, though if I had the energy, I
could probably manage it, but I doubt they say anything about *not*
allowing breastfeeding.  Indeed, there are studies, and you all know
them, which show that breastfeeding can begin much earlier than bottle
feeding.
