Karleen brings up an interesting and thought provoking concept when she
suggests that breastfeeding experts should really be 'infant feeding
experts' and should be as familiar with formula and bottle feeding as they
are with breastfeeding.

While I agree with the reasoning *behind* her suggestion (how can we fully
understand why women introduce formula and/or wean if we don't understand
formula, and how can we make reference to formula risks if we are not
educated in it fully), I do not at all agree with the suggestion itself.

Until and unless IBCLC's become fully licensed across the world and are able
to prescribe infant formula and a protocol for its use, I am and will remain
a BREASTFEEDING expert.
