In the research results from the WIC National Breastfeeding Promotion Project
(Loving Support Campaign)one of the reason's stated by WIC clients for early
weaning is the inability to secure adequate support from professionals. One
of the things they complained about was improper information given by
healthcare professionals, as well as conflicting information from the
professional folks they came in contact with. For instance, the MD said one
thing, the nurses said different things, and none of them jived with what the
mothers had heard at WIC. This is why it is so important that we all get on
the "same page" and that there be no appearance of lactation professionals
disagreeing about treatment. Very important that we treat each others
opinions with respect. People are WATCHING!
