Robyn, I appreciated your contributions re: breastmilk for eye
infections and burns. I have personal experience with both.

My first daughter had raging eye infections for most of her first year.
We used a variety of drops & ointments till another LLLL suggested
breastmilk. Her infections cleared up just weeks before she was
scheduled for surgery to open her tear ducts, thank goodness. The
breastmilk was at least as effective as any meds we used. I have since
found a brief reference to breastmilk as an effective treatment for
conjunctivitis in a medical text.

A close friend managed to dump a boiling liquid on her preschool
daughter. She was absolutely horrified, of course. I suggested
expressing milk over the burns when changing the dressings. The burns
healed very well. No signs of infection at any point and virtually no
scarring.

Breastmilk may well help a Crohn's sufferer. I'm curious if anyone has
any experience or knowledge of breastmilk used for the treatment of
Multiple Sclerosis. I have searched the archives but didn't notice
anything.
