It sounds like you called it correctly. The clicking and the chewing and 
problems latching are alls signs of tongue tie, either posterior or 
obvious to the tip. I give moms information from the Breastfeeding 
Answer Book and use the photos from the BF Atlas showing tongue ties. I 
make several copies at once and give these out for the parents to think 
and decide and talk to their HCP. That way it isn't your opinion or just 
some crazy talk. I also gave out a referral list of experienced IBCLCs 
and LLL in our community when I worked in a hospital so that women had 
help when they got discharged if they needed or wanted it.

Mom may have not been that committed or overwhelmed by all the things 
that have happened during the birth and afterwards. You can't make 
people breastfeed, we can only offer information and the best help we 
can give. Many women go into this saying they "will try" and trying 
often means one time and if it is easy. You got to let it go.
