After listening to everyone on risks of formula feeding, benefits of
breastfeeding, presenting positives, avoiding to much discussion on problems
associated with breastfeeding we updated our outline for breastfeeding
classes. I would be interested in others outlines that they use for
teaching and why they like those particular ones. Please email me privately
at [log in to unmask] I know the choir understands what we are
preaching but I want to be sure I am giving the audience the "best show". i
always like to start class of with who we are and why we chose to breastfeed
and use these as starting points for class. I also like to give the AAP
instructions on bottlefeeding, i.e. sterilizing bottles and nipples and
boiling water used for formula feeding for at least the first three months,
having well water tested, running out of formula at 2 am and having to run
to the 24 hour Walmart (if you are lucky to have one in town) or convience
store in the snow storm, all the while passing around a cup of very smelly
mixed up formula for all to smell and telling moms about increased colds,
flu, URI's, ear infections, etc.,etc.., Well better step down off the soap
box for tonight, Thanks for the info and laughs everyone. Carrie Wilkison
