Hello fellow Lactnetters,

I'm hoping to pick your brain regarding a friend who has recently stopped breastfeeding; she has given me permission to post.

My friend, a 36 y/o G2P2, has a 2-1/2 year daughter who recently self weaned. Since weaning 1 month ago, mom has experienced a myriad of symptoms that remain unexplained and she wondered if it could be due to hormonal changes as a result of weaning? Prior to weaning, mom stated she "never felt better!" She is not pregnant. She exercises regularly, eats and healthy diet and is of normal BMI.

Here are some symptoms: headaches and nausea, irregular menstrual bleeding occurring 2 weeks s/p last menses,
fatigue, hot flashes, fever, chills, night sweats, emotional changes (anger: highly atypical for her). All of her lab work has been normal (thyroid, too).
Any thoughts?

Thanks for any ideas. : )
Take care,
Amy
