Hello wonderful, beautiful people !

I've tried to hard to let this go, but, my goodness, it is eating at me lol

The Canadian band, Barenaked Ladies, had a concert on a Canadian cable station this week. Part way through the concert, my 13 year old son said, "Momma - LOOK!"

Wouldn't you know it, there was a commercial for formula - and my heart sank. A proud momma I am that he noticed that it was wrong, but oh dear...If he didn't have me as a mom, would he now think that formula was the one to buy because Barenaked Ladies advertised for it???

I know a couple of the guys in the band, their wives used midwives, and I am in complete shock. Perhaps they didn't know about who was a sponsor of their show on tv that night?

So, me being who I am, posted on the band's board, tweeted people, and started a facebook page (yea - it REALLY got to me!) calling on them to "make amends and do a Breastfeeding PSA". If you look up #lactivist or #breastfeeding on twitter, you'll find the tweet. The fb group is called something direct like, "Barenaked Ladies should make amends and do a Bresatfeeding PSA."

In my heart, I can't boycott BNL (the guitarist has been an incredible support to my son, so I can't complain all by myself) but dang it all - FORMULA!! I am livid.

Do with his information as you wish - delete this message, join the fb group, write the band, or nothing.

Advertising formula is not innocuous. IT'S AGAINST THE WHO CODE !!!

Writing CMT is happening, too (www.cmt.com). I'm not into country music, so I don't know if it's regular business for them to advertise formula.

Getting off of my soapbox now.
