Tess Gerritson is a doctor.  I'm not doc-bashing or mean this in a negative 
light.  In fact, I love her books for the suspense, as well as her very detailed 
medical information - for a lay person, it can border on gruesome.  I remember 
thinking, the first time she mentioned breastfeeding, even though she did not 
present it in a very good light, at least she talked about it.
