You'all realize that this is not about selling pure human milk. The article
states:

"Medo wants to set up a network of 20 donor centers and a central processing
plant where the milk could be pasteurized and fortified, says this article
from the Boulder, Co., <A HREF="http://www.bouldernews.com/healthfitness/stories/02fmilk.html">Daily Camera</A>. Medo estimates that her company could
process 4 million ounces of milk a year, which would be marketed to hospitals
for premature and sick infants. Deciding whether to breastfeed or bottle-feed
an infant is often a difficult decision for some women. "

The fortification of human milk means that you are not talking about human
milk banking. You are talking about something new--the patents on human milk
components in the US Patent Office point in this direction. This company,
International Milk Science Corporation will have to be dealing with the
infant formula giants in order to get this off the ground. An Elena Medo
(founder of this corporation) is listed as from White River Concepts Inc.
according to the National Women's Business Council. I suspect that if this
whole situation is not exposed--what companies are involved, etc.,
breastfeeding is headed in the direction of "history." What is White River
Concepts connection to this project? Is Ms Medo still working for White
River Concepts Inc.? Sometimes I feel like I am banging my head against a
brick wall. The patenting of human milk components has enormous impact on
the future of breastfeeding. You are already seeing the end results.
