Dear Lactnetters,
A mom was told that because her child had been premature and also
because she was breastfeeding, her child was at greater risk for dental
caries. She asked if this is true? The LLLI statement on dental caries
does say to ask the mother if her child was premature? In what way does
this predispose to dental caries, if it does? And would breastfeeding
enhance that risk?
        TIA,
