Conference planning is part of what I do for a living. I have forms,
checklists, sample letters etc. that I can share with you to make your job
easier. Please send me your snail mail address and I will get it to you
pronto. For breakout sessions, have a volunteer assigned to the session to
introduce the speaker, pass out handouts, turn down the lights, gather the
evaluations, troubleshoot the AVs, etc. Having their responsibilities
written down is also helpful. I've learned this the hard way over the
years as I found I couldn't be more than one person : D. We've always
allowed BF children in our conferences at our hospital but I have had to
use my ovaries on occasion ( never thought of it that way Kathleen A!).
I've been the mom with the fussy baby in the back who's crying in the
hallway, so I try to be sensitive to the mom's feelings and concerns of the
conference participants.

I've been reviewing a breastfeeding education CD ROM that is designed for
pateints and staff to view, either on a network, CD ROM or via the WWW.
The content was pretty accurate though I wasn't happy with some of the
graphics they used. I'm pointing them toward the BF clip art site.
Anyway, they are looking for trained eyes to preview their product. It may
hold some promise. You can get more information from the company at
http//:www.graphiced.com.

Good luck Karen!
