I am weighing in *firmly* on the side of "Don't Know" in this issue. But I
will give an anecdote. A mom was initiating weaning (an Ezzo fatality) and
she wasn't wanting to pump much. Her breasts were quite engorged and
nothing was coming out with the pump. I had her immerse her breasts in
warm Epsom Salts water and the milk began flowing. She then pumped with
good output. Maybe it was the "ritual" that initiated the MER. Maybe it
was because I *said* that it would help. (Of course, she didn't believe
anything else that I had said.) Or maybe there is something about milk flow
from breasts that is different from other tissue with edema.

I find the points on both sides most interesting and convincing. We are all
learning a lot with this thread. Thanks to all of you.

Hey, I did a spell check and it found Ezzo to be "unknown"...a nice
thought, isn't it.
