As one who is still learning to live with RA after 13 years, my first
question would be whether she is actually seeing a rheumatologist. Celebrex
and Vioxx are more specifically for osteoarthritis, which has a very
different etiology than RA. Secondly, there are multiple NSAIDS to try, and
it is correct to say that only some work for some people. I, for one, went
through 7 different ones before I found one that would work for me. Some
NSAIDS are compatible with bfdg. Some of the meds used as 2nd and 3rd line
defense (methotrexate, Arava) are not recommended for use with bfding,
however sometimes NSAID's are adequate. Finally, RA is complex, and it is
of utmost importance to find a rheumatologist who is willing to listen and
help her develop a treatment plan which is right for her. She may want to
have a heart to heart with him to see if he is supportive of bfdg in
general. If you want more info, feel free to email me privately.

<A physician has told a client she must <wean her 6 month old baby within 3
<days in order to take either Viox ( <not found in my '99 Hale) or Celebrex
<which was not reviewed.

<Needless to say, the mother is
<devastated by this command. She is <being prescribed these meds for
<Rhuematoid Arthritis treatment.
