THANKS to all who responded to my request on information. I received a
great deal of info & insight both on posts & privately through email. I
received some contradictory advice but at least the mother has lots of
information to sift through & some opportunities for peer support. I
believe one of the reasons the advice differs is that I did not describe
the baby's condition thoroughly. I want to double-check this info w/mother
before I post it.

As a LLL Leader, I have mainly tried to listen & support her & provide
information on BFing babies in general, while the LC gave technical
information. Due to my increased desire for knowledge & my direct task of
helping to get the baby back to the breast I am seeking out more
information.

I also think this issue is clouded because it appears there is not only one
answer. Luckily, this is an empowered mother - not likely to accept any
HCP's assessment as "gospel." She will sift through the info. & make the
best decision for her baby.

Those of you who provided me with info & opinion - may I share some of
your posts with the mother directly?

Thanks again! I will keep you updated.
