I believe the HMBANA Guidelines draw the line at 50%/50%. Our NICU guides
are based primarily on the HMBANA book. We require that mom freeze any
pumped milk at home and bring it in still frozen. If it is less than 50%
defrosted (>50% frozen) it's okay to refreeze. If it is more than 50%
defrosted, put it in the fridge. At the next feed, finish defrosting in
cold water & use it immediately.
My book is at work, so I can't quote directly at this time.
