<< I find so many of the herbal references to be so zoomy, and to
make so many unsubstantiated claims as to be suspect. I truly wish there
was good clinical research into use of herbs as medicine, with good sources
for purity and controlled dosages, and published info on interactions, side
effects, and efficacy. Until I know more, I intend to exercise restraint

I just got back from an excellent conference for health care providers on
alternative medicine -- spent most of the day on herbal
preparations/medications. And yes, they ARE medications regardless of what
the FDA labels them. Some good info r/t how to find out about efficacy and
purity etc. Brand new is some labeling by the American Botanical Council --
will explain later. Still all the labeling, etc. is voluntary by each company
that manufacturers it, but there are some manufacturers that have joined up
with a not-for-profit self-policing type of organization -- need to get the
name of it for y'all. Don't have time to post more now, but will do so later.

There were about 250 people there; most of them nurses.
