Barbara Watson Clay's recent posts on the mother of twins who was unable to
produce is a great example of what we can all learn on lactnet. I have also
had women like this who you try and encourage but I'm getting more and more
convinced of the importance of early double pumping and meds if needed.
I've seen it more often then not that a mother experiencing real difficulty
with supply (or latch) early needs help with what ever we can manage.
I've posted before of a woman who was a dedicated breastfeeding mother of
two previous children but when she had a small premature who was unable to
latch well, nothing we did seemed to help. I had ordered a personal fit kit
(large size adaptor for the medela pump) but we didn't order overnight
delivery...and this was a mistake....it took over a week for the order and
by then it was too late. So now I act, when that first intuition hits......
