Kathy points out:
"My fellow list mothers and I have noticed that a few posts are
beginning to
boarder on the unfriendly/unkind in wording and tone. Just a
friendly
reminder to remember that we are all colleagues here, with a joint
purpose
of networking and helping mothers and babies. Please try to "assume
good
intent" on the part of your fellow list members."

Thanks for this reminder, Kathy. All too often I see people taking
one minor element out of a post and taking it somewhere the original
poster did not in any way intend. Some times this leads to
worthwhile discussions while at other times, it goes nowhere. If
everyone who had this happen to them took it personally and stopped
positng, we would lose a big percentage of our contributers!

Also, we need to remember that if we were talking to each other fact
to face (rereading, I noticed this typo-should read face to face,
but left it in as it is somewhat of an interesting Freudian slip),
we would hopefully have much more of a back and forth discussion
rather that long dissertations. We need to realize that we can
neither go into all the details of any given situation or interrupt
someone to say, "That's not what I meant at all." or "Yes, we
already looked into that possibility (or tried that approach)." So
let's not feel talked down to or miffed when a fellow LNer offers
suggestions or asks questions that we may feel don't apply. I would
hate to think that anyone would feel that they need to stop posting
questions or stop throwing out thoughts and suggestions for fear
someone will "take them the wrong way".

Winnie
