Friends:

This is forwarded from Denise Arcoverde, WABA Webmistress. I apologize if
this has already been posted to the list, but the info is TOO GOOD to not
make sure that as many people know about it as possible.

The Int'l Labor Organization is meeting RIGHT NOW in Geneva, debating the
revisions of the Maternity Protection Convention. This has great
implications for protecting, promoting, and supporting breastfeeding
worldwide.

I strongly urge you to take a few minutes to go to the WABA Website to read
about the current status of the debates. Although we as citizens cannot
provide direct comment to our national representatives, it is very
interesting to see what comments are coming from what nations. In this way,
we will be better prepared, as a lactation support community, to promote
adoption of the revised Maternity Protection Convention in our OWN
countries, to protect our OWN selves, mothers, daughters, and friends.

If you have questions about the Maternity Protection Convention, or the
process, please email me privately at <[log in to unmask]>. Chris Mulford
is currently in Geneva, lobbying for breastfeeding, so I am filling in for
her.

Thanks for your interest!!!
