One approach would be to send the US Breastfeeding Committee's reply *and*
the LLL press release to the editor (probably the features editor) and ask
for a follow-up story. Make your points on why the follow-up story is
necessary in the letter (localize it - how many breastfeeding moms are there
in your community who need to know about this?), and follow with a phone
call.
