Hi All!

Let me reintroduce myself. My name is Jill and I'm a LLLL. I have 3 kids,
the youngest is going to 1 year on January 3rd, (I can't beleive it went so
fast!). I have severe psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. Which, by the
way, is going into remission! After having 70% or greater coverage for
several months we're still in shock that it has improved so much. Thanks to
all of you that sent me personal posts. Your thoughts were (and are)
greatly appreciated.

I've been researching prozac in the archives. After reading recent posts I
became concerned about the saafety of this drug while BF. I'm currently
taking 40 mg daily. When I started this drug at 27 weeks gestation I
throuroughly researched its safety for pregnancy and breastfeeding. It was
understood then, and now, that weaning is not an option. It was my
understanding that mainly I should watch for side effects. It was never
discussed that I should switch to a diferent drug after the baby was born.
Now I'm wondering about Paxil.

Is it the side effects that are a concern? It seems to me that Dr. Hale has
some concerns, would you care to comment?I also thought the colic thing was
reported by one mother and that her baby was quite young. Have there been
other reports of this?

Just for your info. My Linzey is great! She has been speaking for months.
Her development is right on target if not accelerated. I have had no side
effects and have been very pleased with the drugs effectiveness.

My co-Leader is certified and has started a file on anti-depressents, we get
lots of calls regarding this subject. Now I'm wondering if the info we have
is out dated. For some reason my impression was that both Paxil and Prozac
were safe.

Thanks so much and HAPPY NEW YEAR.

Jill - Mom to Kelsey 6 yo, Charlie 4 yo and Linzey Jayne.
