Because I have a highly allergic child, I've been in contact with other
parents of allergic kids, many of whom are much worse off than my
child - very much like the one you describe. In virtually all of those
situations, the mom's did nurse for awhile, but the baby couldn't
tolerate mom's diet via nursing - even when mom had cut out everything
that they felt able to (and for some of them, it was really incredible
what lengths they were willing to go to). While it's possible that
baby could tolerate donor milk, it's also very possible that she
couldn't.

In one case, the mom had gone to the barest of the bare diets and
finally started drinking the neocate herself in hopes of maintaining the
breastfeeding relationship. Still didn't work.

What about using the flavoring packets (ugh!!!) that are available for
mixing with neosure. It's an awful idea, of course as they're
artificial flavors but......

Having said that, I'd still give donor milk a try if you could get your
hands on it. I'd also be looking at heavy duty high quality probiotics
and digestive enzymes, but it doesn't look like mom is up to thinking
along those lines.

Mom could subscribe to [log in to unmask] for some very
good support. Many of the moms there are dealing wtih what this mom
is dealing with. They've been there with the sick nb, the nissan fundo
surgery and all of the subsequent issues that this can have for a
toddler and child. There are families there who's 4yo's are tolerating
neosure plus one other food like, fe, grapes.

The support is incredible.

best of luck to you with this tough one.
