Dear Friends:

Jaye presents a question asked by someone she knows, about cancer being
passed through the milk. This was an old scare from the 70s or 80s. I believe it
was Freudenheim that showed that breastfed babies were at lower risk of breast
 cancer.

As human milk helps the developing immune system to mature properly so
babies that are not breastfed are at a higher risk for leukemias and lymphomas.

warmly,

Nikki Lee RN, BSN, Mother of 2, MS, IBCLC, CCE, CIMI
