I started receiving Depo shots at 6 weeks postpartum with baby # 2, after I
got pregnant on the progestin-only pill (set my alarm to take everyday, and
used back up for a month - got pregnant month #2).  I have overactive let
down and one very chunkily beautiful baby, later found to have Posterior
tongue tie, and didn't take solids to 7 1/2.  I used depo after his birth,
and the next child. It was effect for me to not get pregnant again ;-)

WIth depo, as with most medications, there will be someone it won't work
for (progestin-only pill).  Some on depo have constant bleeding (my former
OB's wife) or no bleeding (me).
