Has anyone ever noticed that clients come in themes? Like one week the
theme will be babies who won't latch, another week the theme will be flat
nipples, etc. Well, this week my them is "thyroid". Yep. I have seen three women
this week (as my themes usually run) who are are suffering from issues related
to their thyroid. One, we aren't sure yet, but she has several other
symptoms, and always has and now they are worse along with no milk, so she is
getting some tests to find out. No. 2, I already posted about, and today No. 3
who has had her thyroid removed and has a baby who has always gained very
slowly--dangerously slowly at one point and is now losing weight. Anyway, so
today I have read pretty much everything on Lactnet with the word thyroid. LOL.
Oh, I am not finished, but am planning to. Repeatedly though there is the
questions about what would 'normal' be for a mother lactating, and so far not a
reply. I know I did not get a reply to my previous post seeking information
on what levels the mother should be aiming for--other than private ones
saying, me too me too. Haha. SO, is there no answer? Is there somewhere I can
look and find it? These mothers have hcp's who will help them, they just need
to know how to do so. The one endocrinologist said it best "I don't know
anything about lactation". So, I am hoping those on this list who are
fountains of knowledge will please share. At the very least, if you have already
searched too, and found no answers, please let me know so I can stop seeking
what I will not find.

Thanks so much,
