To Dr. Hale or any other Physician or Pharmacist or IBCLC that can help. I am
not really good at retrieving stuff from the archives, every time I have tried
I get the request back, I know it is me, so this is my question. I have had a
call from an expectant mom, that in the past was told she MUST NOT breastfeed,
because she was on seizure medication. Her Pediatrician told her to call me
because she thinks she may be able to breastfeed even though she is on
medication. I have looked in Hales and feel that she probably can, but I
would like someone to confirm that I am reading the information correctly.
The medications she takes is Tegretol
500mg. tid (when not pregnant she usually takes 1200 mg's instead of 1500 mg)
and the second drug is Phenobarbital 120mg qd, (60mg bid). Thanks to anyone
who answers me. My private E-mail address is [log in to unmask]
