Sorry, my mail was rejected yesterday night, and I see it only now. It is my
fault. I put it again immediately. Warmly, Francoise

Subject: Fw: breastfeeding mother working in nuclear plant?

Hello Verónica,

Thanks a lot for answering so quickly, it is nice to read you.

Well! It would be really great if you could retrieve this document, I guess
that I will need strong elements for this mom, and by the way, it is 200%
normal!

I have a few time left, because this Mom won't resume before 1 month or so,
and I have told her I wished (+ needed time) to summarize elements about
breastfeeding and working in nuclear plant.
From all this, will depend the "volume" of her milk bank. At the beginning
she had contacted me in order to know how to make a personnal milk bank
allowing several months of exclusive breastfeeding after weaning. This makes
a large volume!

So if you could find this document, I am sure it would be really usefull!

Thanks for all,
Warmly,
Françoise

Subject: breastfeeding mother working in nuclear plant?

Hello Fraçoise,
My name is Verónica Garea. I am a LLL Leader in Argentina. I hold an ME in
Nuclear Engineering and a PhD in Engineering Physics. My area of expertise
is Nuclear Safety and Radiation Protection.

The International Commission for Radiation Protection (ICRP) has issued a
document on breastfeeding and radioisotopes. This document is intended for
Nuclear Power Plants (NPP) workers, not for medical use of radioisotopes.

I have the document in a backup (my hard drive died a few weeks ago and I
have not had the time to restore all the files tothe new one). The document
addresses dose to baby and establishes limits for mother in the form of ALI
and DAC for ingestion and inhalation of radioisotopes.

Is this useful for you?

Best regards,

Verónica
