Hi all,

I just read the paper " A review of the medical benefits and
contraindications to breastfeeding in the United States" written by Dr
Lawrence RA. It's a wonderful review.
I have only one question:
She said that infants born to mothers known to be HBsAg positive should
receive HBIG and first vaccination within 12 hours after birth. Then
breastfeeding can begin. Do you give the vaccine in delivery room? If not,
then the first contact and suckling may be delayed. What is your opion?

We are encouraging mothers to breastfeed their babies immediately after
birth in Taiwan . Our Pediatric Society also encourage all the mothers, no
matter what the HVB status, to breastfeed their babies.

I understand that different countries may have different recommendation. I
am considering about the first contactand suckling...
