If in fact it IS mastitis, remember that a common side effect from a round of antibiotics in the breastfeeding couple can sometimes lead to thrush afterward....just a heads up!

discharge and systemic symptoms (fever is not necessary for mastitis

measures typical for mastitis treatment.
